| Reason for Names: |
- Sanibel: Sanibel's always struck me as a peaceful, beachy sort of name, which makes sense; it's a resort island in southwestern florida, southwest of fort myers, noted for its seashells. I wanted Sanibel as a character to be just that: fun, but with an air of quietness.
- Blythe: She was given this name by her father, Hiro. It's supposed to be related to the word blithe, meaning 'showing a casual and cheerful indifference considered to be callous or improper.'
- Poppy: This name is an alias she came up with while living as a Black-Light in Pheasant Woods. She uses this name with non-Light-Tribe cats.

SECONDARY
SKILL 1
Infrared
By picking up the thermal body temperature of living organisms, you're effectively able to distinguish what is around you.
SKILL 2
Knowledge Keeper
Toxic and chemical knowledge is now at your grasp!
SKILL 3
A Helping Sting
By draining the venom from snakes, bees, scorpions, or a patient, you are able to create a biological treatment for that specific venom. You are able to take that venom and dilute it down, using your knowledge of chemicals. From this, you make an antivenin, which can be used to treat patients who've been bitten. It requires the knowledge of what exactly bit/stung them, and it can be stored for later use. But of course, it will go off eventually and more will need to be made.
SKILL 4
Exhaustion
You’re now able to sap away the energy of your opponent – effectively tiring them; they become weaker and less of a threat. More experienced secondaries will be able to transverse the energy to themselves.
SKILL 5
Inhibition
You’re now able to weaken one of your opponent’s five senses – but you have no control over which one. Experienced secondaries can completely subdue the sense for a limited amount of time.
SKILL 6
Miasma
You create a small area of poisonous fog around yourself, which will make the opponents nauseated – if not sick. You cannot move while using this skill and the fog fades quickly.

- Physically, she adores oddly-colored eyes, specifically yellow/amber, lilac and sky blue. Coat-wise, she likes those with medium-length fur and warm pelts: red, brown and gold tones. A bit of long fur, whether it be a mane or curling bangs, goes a long way. Additionally, she prefers larger, more sinewy figures over smaller and scrawnier ones- both in males and females. When it comes to markings, Sanibel enjoys coat patterns such as spots, flecks, and tabby markings.
- In nature, Sanibel would favor a cat who isn't nearly as bashful or introverted as herself. Instead, she'd be happy with someone who was outgoing, dominant and boisterous, though understanding. When it comes down to it, she'd love to be spoiled in a relationship, receiving things any hopeless romantic dreams of- flowers, little dates, truthful compliments. She does NOT like flirty or unfaithful cats. She has trouble trusting them, now especially.

♢ Personality ♢
| Type: ISFJ | Introvert x Sensing x Feeling x Judging // the protector
+
{ benevolent, compassionate | introverted | graceful | ambitious | confident | passionate, devoted | altruistic }
- benevolent, compassionate // (of a person) well-meaning, kindly
This Gold-Light has a unique gift to read others similar to an open book. She is sensitive and notices the small details of an emotion, whether it's the slight curl of the lips, the sound of gritting teeth, a dejected flick of ears. . Sanibel picks out emotions from body language and tone with an ability that is rare to come across. With this gift, she talks to those in need of an affectionate touch or slight smile. With the belief that everyone deserves the right to be happy, she does everything to aid others into achieving a sense of peace. However, her kindness and passion towards those she loves can turn fierce, too. While she is bashful, Sanibel would easily stand and fight to defend a friend; she would shed her own blood instead of seeing one she loves, or even a tribe mate, in pain.
- introverted // a character predominantly concerned with their own thoughts and feelings rather than with external things.
Sanibel enjoys the time she devotes to herself. She is definitely a character who enjoys the company of others, but feels drained by the end of any interaction. She tends to shy away from interacting with both new and familiar faces and, if forced, will be quiet for most of the time out of utter bashfulness. Often, she'll have a good argument or words to offer but will be too afraid to share them; she'll eventually warm up and take her part in the conversation, though. In her alone time, she expresses her affection for flowers and admiration for birds, and being taught some names of them as a kitten, Sanibel often scouts for the avians with which she is not familiar. She also thoroughly enjoys water and swimming and can often be found sitting in shallows, watching her tail in the water or staring into the depths.
- graceful // having or showing grace or elegance.
Although she's had her moments of utter clumsiness, Sanibel has smoothed herself out as a pretty delicate and graceful she-cat. She knows how to act like a lady, that is for sure. As an adolescent and kitten, being elegant and feminine wasn't as important to her; she really didn't think about it, nor did she have time to do so. But, now, as an adult, she regards grace and elegance highly. Straight posture, flowing gaits and nimble movements characterize her now in public. She knows how to appear sophisticated and convey it through the smallest of details- the lift of a paw, a turn of the head. But never is any of it forced- everything seems to come naturally now.
- ambitious // having or showing a strong desire and determination to succeed.
Now that her tattoo has been washed with an orange hue, marking her age-up, Sanibel was able to graduate and become a full-fledged poisoner. With a new sense of identity and freedom, Sanibel actually wants to do something with herself. She's as committed to her tribe as ever, and she's working harder. It's not uncommon to find her practicing combat moves in the grassy clearing or hunting early in the morning. Finally, she wants to earn her place in the tribes- her tribe- and get somewhere. Sanibel believes she has what it takes to lead her fellows 'Lights, and she wants to be able to do so. What point is there in being satisfied with her life, lounging around camp? She wants to turn away from the idea of 'Oh, I'm actually content with my life, so I should be happy.' Instead, she wants to push herself out of tranquility and comfort and think forward, aiming for better and brighter things. And, now, more than ever, Sanibel is using work as a distraction. She will spend entire days out of camp collecting useful flora and hunting, exhausting herself- not that she cares, really, because she's putting herself to use. More than anything, her tribe is coming first; she's starting to dismiss her own health (not that it's physically doing poorly) and trying to find peace in solitude. Of course, to think this would work is foolish. Sanibel is becoming more shy and guarded, much like she was when she was younger. But above everything- her friends, happiness, well-being - she places her tribe and her work to it first and foremost. It was her home when nothing else was; it make her feel sound. She's always asking how she can help out with the work load, a bit incessantly, even.
- confident // feeling or showing confidence in oneself; self-assured.
Sanibel has had no reason to be insecure. She's comfortable in her own skin and believes having self-esteem is crucial to a strong character, especially public leaders. How could they lead others if they barely are happy with themselves and their leadership in themselves? Sanibel is pretty self-assured, though not excessively so (to the point of being an egomaniac), despite the presence of her vain nature. Even in situations that daunt her, she is a firm believer feigned phlegm and audacity are undoubtedly more preferable than the utter lack of thereof. She had the ability to conquer her own bashful disposition and make sure her voice does not quiver when speaking to a mass of others, though it doesn't always come easily.
- passionate, devoted // showing or caused by strong feelings or a strong belief.
Sanibel is boldly passionate about her beliefs, friends, and tribe and will not allow her voice to quiver when she defends them individually. Being a shy and usually timid female, Sanibel will be passionate in a soft-spoken and reverent manner, never raising her voice- but never lowering it, either. Being benevolent, selfless, and devoted, she will rise to speak for someone even if she barely knows them. Her morals are strong, and they drive her forward to constantly strive to be a better character. She believes in overall fairness and balance- no one should look down on another because of their abilities, appearances, lineage/blood, or differing beliefs. Furthermore, Sanibel's being if fueled by passion. She wants to be the best she can be for her tribe, despite suffering from the abilities of a secondary. She knows poisoners are dangerous and, under the current rules of Light Tribe, have no use. So she strives to do more than she can handle: learning traditional healing techniques, hunting from dawn to dusk, staying with queens and watching kittens (not that she honestly minds any of this). Even though Sanibel is exhausted at the end of the day, she doesn't think about it- she knows everything she does is for her home, the one place that took her in and will continue to welcome lost ones like her. Though she will not openly admit it, since she's rather shy when it comes to sharing her deepest thoughts, she knows she owes her life, loyalty, devotion and love to Light-Tribe.
- altruistic // showing a disinterested and selfless concern for the well-being of others; unselfish.
Sanibel is incredibly selfless. Not that it's really unexpected, since her altruistic nature can be seen daily. She puts others before herself, always. Her benevolent disposition is paired well with this trait- she'll make sure no one is ever feeling helpless, useless, or alone. If someone is sitting alone in camp, they're sure to have company once she spots them. If one of her tribe mates is feeling down and decides to go for a walk, she'll join them and talk if they want to just listen. If they want someone else to listen, she'll lend an attentive ear. Sanibel is caring and affectionate, and even if someone tries to push her away, she'll come right back. She knows what it's like to have no one there, and she doesn't want anyone to feel like they're walled-up by their own solitude.
+/-
{ bashful | quirky | secretive | childish, playful }
- bashful // reluctant to draw attention to one's self; shy.
One trait that stuck with Sanibel through her childhood is her shy, bashful nature. Being a sheltered single child supported her introverted nature; when she arrived in the tribes, little Blythe was hesitant and scared enough of the idea of approaching the leaders and asking for acceptance. Of course, over time, Sanibel's quiet and reserved nature loosened up, and she felt at home in Light Tribe. This trait is usually only now introduced when meeting new arrivals, respectable figures or other Non-Light Tribe cats; Sanibel has a habit of blushing a lot, specifically under flattery or attention [even despite her vain nature!]. While she doesn't stutter, Sanibel tends to say "um," "oh," and "uh" frequently while nervous. While some may consider her slightly timid and quiet disposition around unfamiliar characters 'cute,' Sanibel regards it as a pain rather than adorable attribute.
- quirky // characterized by a peculiar or unexpected nature.
This young female is usually described kindly by others as quirky, or peculiar. With a slight appearance but tranquil nature, she has a habit of coming off as a bit quirky at first; she doesn't exactly have a filter when it comes to any sort of encounter, no matter the rank or status of the opposite feline, either. She could say something like, "You look like someone I know," and she may ramble on about some specific feline she crossed some irrelevant amount of moons ago. She also has no trouble being straightforward and downright honest; if an older feline is abusing power or showing excessive pride, Sanibel will point it out bluntly, private or public. Her eccentric disposition is one of her both positive and negative traits; while it sets her apart and acts as a key, distinct characteristic, it also tended to drive away potential friends and lead to others thinking oddly of her. She does not mind- or honestly notice- her odd composition, but rather continues to march to the beat of her own drum. If you want to learn more about her or her eccentric beliefs, look on further.
- secretive // inclined to conceal feelings and intentions or not to disclose information.
Sanibel isn't a happy when faced with prying characters. She dislikes those who are nosy and attempt to twist into her life with a relentless iron grip, especially cats with whom she is familiar. That said, the Gold-Light often won't want to talk about her own life (even if there was something worth discussing with others), pressed by others or not. However, being gullible, it is likely she could easily be tricked into giving away important information if she were to hold such. Moreover, when it comes to actual emotions, she can be utterly stubborn and deny what she is feeling. It is completely probable for her to be in a scenario in which she's angry, but denies it repeatedly, saying "I'M. NOT. ANGRY." with a fuming attitude, bristled fur and narrowed brows, lashing her tail like a maniac.
- childish, playful // fond of games and amusement; lighthearted.
Anyone who even remotely knows Sanibel knows that she has the spirit of a kitten stuck in an adult's body. Throughout her life, this single trait, her uncanny, incredible and steadfast blitheness, has stayed the same. It defines her- she has a light spirit, there is no doubt about it. She adores games, running through snow, rolling in mud, going swimming in the summer and splashing water on those around her with a wide beam on her face, hiding beneath the surface of lakes and scaring others, peering at her friends (specifically Jack) from beneath lily pads. . She's into the simplest pleasures life offers. So it's no surprise she gets along with kittens, especially those such as Roran and Adalin; she loves to act like a sibling to those younger to her. Still, some adults tend to mistake Sanibel's kittenish playfulness for flirtatious, and she's oblivious to this. She's lighthearted and keeps it that way no matter what- flecked with mud and all.
-
{ dependent | envious | obstinate | gullible, naive | emotional, sensitive | persistent }
- dependent // requiring someone or something for emotional or other support.
Being a bit of a cry-baby, little Blythe would always run to her mother, Santana, then, and she was dependent on her parents (usually her mother) to save her from everything that wasn't flowery and sweet. She doesn't like handling threats or problems on her own, and, like a child, she will cower behind others instead. Don't be confused- she is fully able of handling things on her own, but Sanibel just. . doesn't. She feels the need to depend on others to fix things for her, to heal up all her problems and whatnot. And she still will press herself away from anything that doesn't fit in her flowery or sweet world.
- envious // desire to have a quality, possession, or other desirable attribute belonging to (someone else).
Sanibel is always comparing herself to others and feeling a bit of jealousy towards anything they possess that she does not, whether it's a physical distinction, an attractive personality trait- anything and everything included. She loathes the fact that some things- like exterior appearances or auras- are naturally gifted or come to some cats so easily. The Gold-Light could bathe in her own jealousy for an entire day and not want to think about anything except that one thing about which she's jealous. Her own desires can tend to be superficial; if she even feels the slightest notes of jealousy or bitterness against someone, it tends to leak through her words and tone.
- obstinate // stubbornly refusing to change one's opinion or chosen course of action, despite attempts to persuade one to do so.
Once her mind is set on one notion, it is difficult to change the idea on which it's fixated. While one may not expect it, Sanibel can be stubborn as a bull; she tends to regard her own judgement highly. If a group of friends decides to do a reckless act, she'll stand her solid ground and refuse to take on the bit of fun. But, of course, this trait is easily a negative one. While her judgement can sometimes be wise, Sanibel is still young and inexperienced, so her views can be clouded by emotions or inexperience. Even when her opinion isn't the most rational ones in comparison to those before her, she'll still stand by it and refuse to divert her mind elsewhere.
- gullible, naive // easily persuaded to believe something; credulous.
Really, one main characteristic played a part in developing this trait: Sanibel's trusting nature. An example of her childishness is her tendency to idolize older, taller cats and trail after them; she'll often follow them around as if they were her mother and she a kitten. She also loves to run errands of whatever type for others. But this trait is a negative one. She can truly be programmed into thinking whatever- if a cat seems trustworthy at first, she won't judge him or her twice. Sanibel can be taken advantage of easily with the right outward façade, feigned or true, or the cat's choice of words. Her absolute trust is easily won over by those who fake it well.
- emotional, sensitive // easily upset or influenced by the feelings/actions of others.
Sanibel is most likely one of the most emotional characters to breathe. This isn't to say she'll get worked up over nothing, because that's not true. But when she does get upset over something, it's ugly. It's not a beautiful mess or anything; it's a disheveled, sniffing, crying one. Her voice falters and cracks and, although she will usually have a lot to say, much of it will die in her throat. And although she is very perceptive and usually well-spoken when it comes to addressing others and explaining their emotions, she finds it difficult to express her own. Being both introverted, shy and secretive, Sanibel finds it impossible to voice her own emotions into solid words. So, it's likely she'll just quiver and cry when upset. And, if you know how exactly to break her, it's not difficult. Target her friends. Target her personal life or how others view her. She is obsessed with her own self-image and how others see her; moreover, she's incredibly protective and possessive of her friends. To be rejected, looked down upon or cast aside are among her deepest fears.
- persistent // continuing firmly or obstinately in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.
The Gold-Light has a bad habit of being not only stubborn, but also persistent. Sanibel can obnoxious when she presses her own ideas or beliefs on others to the point where they'll accept them in exasperation or just be downright furious; she'll act like she did nothing wrong. And she doesn't realize it- she doesn't know shoving her ideas on others isn't going to do anything. Despite being perceptive and somewhat intellectually intelligent, Sanibel still has trouble communicating her ideas to others coherently and smoothly.
♤ Appearance ♤
Appearance | ( Build | General Appearance | Disabilities and Scars | Accessories | Scent | Voice )
| Build | Her father's Toyger heritage is easily seen in her limber, svelte skeleton; Sanibel is quite a daintily built she-cat. While she is average sized, if not a bit slight, and she has distinct slender limbs that give off a graceful appearance and serve as a speed advantage. With a light, easy step and lithe appendages, she is able to move swiftly and quietly, her movements similar to that of a bird's. However, with her figure being rather short and petite, and the fact that she still retains some infant chub, she may appear still like a kitten. When it comes to facial structure, she has soft, delicate features, really, and lively- usually twinkling- eyes. Her ears are a bit rounded, and they inspired the nickname "Hare." It became a side nickname; when her father, Hiro, was being playful with her, she would address her kitten as "My Hare," or "Little Hare" rather than her given name, Blythe. (Due to this, Sanibel may give her name as Hare to those she is unfamiliar with.). Sanibel's tail is flowing and long, and often it is able to envelope around her frame when lying down. When cold, she tends to sit with her feathery tail curled around her paws. Although she does have some face and belly chub, she's still carrying that air of grace and innocence. And with her winter coat thinning out, her medium-length fur still can exhibit her slender and flexible figure. But she's not as strong or muscular as she could be, and she's still rather delicate. She couldn't be described as petite, because she's not exactly short and little. She's the average height for a female with lengthy limbs and a long skeleton that make her seem taller and more slim.
| General Appearance: | Sanibel was born with her mother's pale, softer pallet, but her father, Pyxis's, slender build Toyger and eyes. She maintains the perfect balance of both her mother and father; her varied markings and freckles are similar to that of Santana, but her lissome framework is obviously a genetic copy of Pyxis's. And while most of her own color comes from her mother, the first thing one may notice about the young female are her eyes. They are a pallid sea blue-green that seemingly shimmer like sea water itself, and they are rather large, like a kitten's. Sanibel has a very fair, light eburnean base coat, a coloration that is similar to light beach sands; her coat is thin but medium-length, while her streaming, sleek tail seems to hold an unusual thickness of hairs. Her chest is also thickly covered as well; the fur is downy and incredibly soft, framing her face well. A rich toffee hue colors colors her tail, back neck fur, ears and face, as well as patterns her paws and toes. A soft wisp of ivory hair curls over the right side of her face. One of Sanibel's distinctive traits is the spray of two-toned freckles that speckle her cheeks and the back of her neck. This characteristic too inspired yet another nickname for her- Freckles.
| Disabilities and Scars: | Currently, Sanibel has no scars to sport, though it is likely she could gain some in the future. As for disabilities, Sanibel is going to struggle with controlling her powers in the future. Being a bit of a pacifist, she tries her hardest not to use them, but when she's heavily provoked, endangered or even a friend is in trouble, the female can slip and activate her tattoo. It's like a defense mechanism for her; she really can't control it. This is especially dangerous if another cat is harming her, considering the powers of a Poisoner are incredibly dangerous and their activation as a form of attack could cause exile.
| Accessories: | None.
| Scent: | A subtle fragrance of saltwater, rosemary and mint. Though it's not terribly heavy, it has a habit of lingering even while her presence is gone.
| Voice | Emma Watson.

- Sanibel loves to run errands! Literally hit her up whenever and ask for a favor and she'll do it.
Human AU Sanibel: 5’5”, soft yet wavy dirty blonde hair, stormy blue-grey eyes, preppy and clean clothes that consist of many floral patterns and various prints, a face speckled with countless starry freckles and rosebud pink lips; around 17 years of age. It's likely she'd be a beach life guard who likes surfing.
Sanibel is super playful and it doesn't take a lot for her to open up to this trait. ; )
She strongly believes the white rabbit in Pheasant Woods could be the embodiment of a Spirit. It's very outlandish. . She does love to talk about it, though.
She has a weird habit of saying peculiar things.
She isn't very religious! When she was younger, she was a bit dubious about the spirits.
She adores birds and refuses to hunt them. The same goes for rabbits!
That said, she's a very picky eater. : -(
Sanibel is very sensitive.
She is not one to stay around those she considers 'toxic.' If she feels like she hurts when she is around you, it won't take her long to realize that the relationship is unhealthy. Sanibel has learned to cut herself away from others and force herself to stop seeing them completely.

- Now that she's the Gold-Light, she's determined to push herself to be the best she can be for her tribe. She's herself (you know, childish and shy), but she's flexing herself out more and speaking up- even though she has warm and rosy cheeks when she speaks.
More than anything, she wants to be respected as a deputy by all. She knows she has earned her place, but others may not have the same belief. Sanibel is not great at handling disrespect, as she tends to become very baffled and withdrawn.
Ever since she was an adolescent, she dreamed about having a family. Of course, she was young then, but the hope still remained. Sanibel absolutely adores kittens (I think most know that; it's pretty obvious) and has a sisterly complex, but she really wants to have children of her own.
| Talents: |
- She is pretty well-versed when it comes to the subject of birds and flowers. Is that really a surprise, though?
Sanibel is talented in being flexible and reaching out to everyone. She goes out of her own way to make sure everyone is comfortable and happy!
| Habits: |
- She has a terrible habit of blushing constantly, but especially when she's met with a flirty companion or public speaking. She can't help it- warmth just rises to her freckled cheeks. It's a funny little quirk/characteristic that she never quite grew out of.
Sanibel tends to run away from her personal problems- literally. She'll hide from others, but she can usually be found on the beaches.
She collects seashells and gems. They're stashed under her nest.
When distressed or angry, she'll puff up.
One can tell she's distracted, because she'll be playing with her tail or blowing wisps of hair from her eyes. When she's anxious, nervous, or feeling especially shy in company, she finds interest in studying her paws and hiding her aquamarine eyes from others' gazes.

♢ History ♢
( Chapter 1: Holy | Chapter Two: Cherry Blossom Petals | Chapter Three: Stained | Chapter Four: Grey Breath | Role-Play History )
Chapter 1: Holy :
Santana, Hiro and Pyxis were born into a small group of cats who had a little but cozy and comfortable camp by a river near the mountains. The place was secluded and there was little to no threat of aggressive raiders. In fact, for the most part, they all lived in peace; few physical altercations broke out- and those that did happen to ignite were settled by the 'chief' of the collection. She was a powerful, independent but incredibly elegant and respected female named Santana; she was a flamepoint and tonkinese cross marked by the Fire Spirit. The group was made up of sixteen strong, young and fully capable cats. While peace reigned, that did not mean there was no trouble- most of it, however, was a mixture of drama and relationships.
Sanibel's two fathers were born into the small group, raised together cozily. On their sixth moon, her biological father, Pyxis, was blessed by the intimidating Shadow Spirit, and a black smile curled over his visage. Hiro happened to be marked by the wise spirit of Light- seemingly fitting, seeing as the two boys were opposites. Pyxis was definitely a charmer, a male with a wild mind and elegant words poised on his tongue. Contrastingly, Hiro was gentle and quiet, a lover of nature and knowledge. But, after all, opposites attract. The two seemed to get along from the start, despite their different characters. It was almost like Pyxis was the fighter and Hiro his shield or guard; they always had each other's backs. Over time, feelings of friendship turned to love and then lust. But, being two males, Pyxis and Hiro were not able to conceive a kitten together. Hiro desperately wanted to be a father, and while Pyxis was a bit hesitant, he would do whatever he could in order to make his lover happy. So he suggested finding a female that would be willing to bear one of their kittens- whether the biological father be Hiro or Pyxis- and allow herself to be pregnant then leave the bundles of life to the two. When Pyxis asked the females, many were hesitant. No one wanted the responsibility or favored the idea of being impregnated by male who wasn't actually theirs. But one voice spoke differently, offering to accept. Santana, the leader of the group and the best friend to Hiro, said yes. For two moons, Pyxis and Santana tried for kittens but to no success. Pyxis was beginning to grow tired; would this even work? For awhile, he gave up, but Hiro refused. He desperately wanted this, and he knew Pyxis did too, even if he was frustrated. With fierce words from Hiro, Pyxis tried one more moon with Santana, and the two males were thrilled when she announced she was pregnant.
Chapter 2: Cherry Blossom Petals :
On a warm, undisturbed winter evening, Santana gave birth to one healthy, small kitten. A single little girl who was a very much like her mother- maybe a carbon copy, even. She was named Blythe. The child rested quietly by their mother's belly under the sweet Cherry Blossom tree by the river, and no threat hung over her head. Hiro and Pyxis were in awe, and they bent down to nuzzle the tiny sleeping figure- a beautiful child who was now their daughter.
Santana spent much of her time nursing and guiding the new kitten, but she would not be regarded as a mother but as an 'aunt.' Gentle Hiro often devoted himself to raising his baby, tenderly looking after her and playing with her while Pyxis watched, content and happy. At night, Santana would slip off to her own den while the small family slept together- usually with Blythe curled in Hiro's tummy and Pyxis on her other side.
In the group, kittens were raised to be calm and polite to others, to choose peace over war, to admire nature and take no kindness for granted. Blythe was a little odd from the start, though. She was by no means outgoing; instead, she was peculiar and bashful, distanced from others. She liked to speak to the flowers and greet birds. She was very shy and tended to hide behind Hiro's paw when an adult spoke to her. Instead of playing with the other larger kittens, she was often by herself with Hiro or Pyxis by the river.
Chapter 3: Stained :
When she was five moons, the unexpected happened. A raid. The sight of a furiously venomous cat was alien to most in the small group, but it was there. A plump but large persian with an incredibly evil reputation named Virgo arrived with her own gang, claws shed and teeth bared. Santana had apparently done some private business and double crossed the intimidating she-cat and had to pay the price for humiliating her. At the time, Hiro and Pyxis were taking some alone time while Blythe slept with Santana. Virgo's icy blue eyes narrowed at the daughter of her enemy, and she had a plan.
"We take the youth of your group, and your only offspring." She demanded, and while Santana opened her lips to protest, Virgo hushed her, a growl growing in her throat.
"And the rest of you will die off. If you refuse, we'll return with harsher conditions. Death will come to all of these cats, and you'll be the last to die after you watch them bleed out." With the safety of her cats outweighing that of the kittens, Santana did the unimaginable. She didn't stand and fight. Instead, she pushed over two of the kittens of her deceased brother and his mate to her- and Blythe. Mewls of protest flocked out of the kitten's mouth, crying for Hiro and Pyxis, but no one would help. Instead, Virgo took each kitten and set off. In the distance, mad cries could be heard from the arriving Pyxis, and the high wailing of Hiro.
Chapter 4: Grey Breath :
Admittedly, Virgo had no idea what to do with kittens. She could raise them as soldiers- yes. But Santana's daughter was unyielding. She refused to fight, but instead would run off from sessions and sit by the river. Time after time of nipping her and dragging her back to the clearing, she would just do the same. There's too much of Santana in this one, she thought bitterly, and she left the useless kitten alone.
One night while the gang rested around a massive oak, Blythe was awakened by a gentle, familiar prod. Her marine blue eyes that had sparkled before but were growing dull opened- to find Hiro and Pyxis. She nearly sprang up like a bird out of joy, but they wouldn't allow it- instead, Pyxis picked up his daughter and slipped out, past the several guards dozing off with Hiro trailing behind.
They had told her that they left the group after Santana had carelessly given the kittens away, and they were alright- but not without Blythe. But she was informed she couldn't be with them for long. Not much of the Exile land was safe anymore, and Hiro and Pyxis were no match for an entire gang like Virgo's again. She had to go to the tribes- a land where cats lived together in some harmony; they were protected by laws and those who were blessed by the same spirit. So they traveled to the unfamiliar lands with Pyxis's small amount of knowledge and made it- as they stood above the vast land, Blythe was marked by a black tattoo from the kind spirit of the Light, just like Hiro. He told her to seek out her tribe. With tears of sadness and happiness in his eyes, Hiro nuzzled his daughter and directed her to her new home; and with kind words and loving goodbyes, they left.
For awhile, Blythe didn't actually want to join her tribe. So she stayed in Pheasant Woods, curled in the roots of a twisted oak. She learned to hunt on her own after a few moons, catching fish in a small river that led to the ocean, and chasing squirrels into the deep woods. Never did she prey on birds- she loved them far too much. And she never tore after rabbits, either. One morning, she swore she saw a flash of white, pure, blinding white- and she felt every negative feeling melt away. This rabbit is commonly known as the Rabbit in Pheasant Woods. After that, she tried to stay away from hunting hares or such.
One event scared her and made her realize she had to join the tribes. One afternoon, after an unsuccessful chase for a mouse, she ended up in the deep woodland. She could figure her way back, of course, but it was dangerous. On her trek back home, she was met with a hungry gaze, coal black. A fox. Although it didn't have th chance to actually come into contact with her, seeing as she fled so fast into a nearby hollow in a tree, it did wait impatiently outside, clawing at the small opening. Blythe had to wait in fear there for a few hours until it lost interest and patience and angrily pelted away, but after that, Blythe sought out Light Tribe.
When accepted by the wise and veneered Silver-Light, Basil, Blythe's raven black shifted into a soft aqua blue; she finally had left her mess of a past behind and the Light Spirit gifted her with a new name- Sanibel.
After that, Sanibel met many and befriended many, but she was not without her enemies. She had reached adulthood in a blur, the faces of the past shifting through her life like rocks in a river. There, in Light-Tribe camp, she was deemed deputy after the previous Deputy had stepped down, and the female hesitantly took the position.
