CHARACTER
+Energetic
-Workaholic
Lazarus is a seemingly tireless cat. He is always the first to rise, and when he does he goes through the tribe to greet the equally early-rising workers. He then does whatever the duties of a deputy is that day. Then he practices his skills and venture through the tribe to practice blacksmithing. When he is satisfied with his practice and smithing, he finds someone to joke and play with or heads out to fish. Many cats have never seen him sit in a single spot for more than six seconds unless he was sleeping. His heart belongs to his tribe first and foremost.
It is very clear that he is vigilant and it is much appreciated, but his heart is coming from the wrong place. He is dreadfully terrified of ever being considered useless. Its an irrational anxiety and he knows it, but he just can't help it. If there is something to be done, he wants to be the one to do it, no matter how tired or weary his body and mind is. Sometimes he does these things at the expense of a potential mate. As said before, his heart is to his tribe.
+High Spirited
-Ambivalent
On top of being everywhere, he is bringing sunshine everywhere. He cracks jokes, sings, and humors others, doing anything he can to bring a smile to their face. The last thing to go from Lazarus is his smile, and he cannot pass a tribe member who is frowning without trying to lift them up as well. Combined with his energy, Lazarus can be charismatic and youthful.
Lazarus is a very conflicted cat. His life as a rogue has made him an introvert despite his friendliness and jubilant ways. He gets pulled in several directions when talking to some. Its another inhibitor to his romantic life. Not only whether or not he actually enjoys talking to who he is talking to is ambiguous, but his morality. He is pretty neutral when it comes to what is good and what is evil, and he can make a sound argument for almost any morally wrong situation...its rather creepy.
+Composed
-Snarky
If Lazarus didn't have any patience and control over his emotions, he would have been dead by now. Being small is a great way to learn how to humble yourself and assess your situation. It is not to say that he isn't filled with unbridled rage ready to explode, but he handles it better than most cats would. Combined with his powers, all hostile situations tend to either be defused by his aura and demeanor, or escalate quickly due to fury. Either way, he is using his own emotions to advantage him in the situation.
Truth be told, if not for his powers, Lazarus would be a very angry individual. Even when he joined the tribe, his unbecoming size meant he needed to prove himself. Sometimes he persevered purely through rage. Since becoming deputy and expanding his powers, he has calmed significantly; training in his skills seems to be a good way to relieve the pent-up frustration, but passive-aggressive ways feel good as well. He can be quite a snarker, and usually when he is in one of those modes, his jabs can be a little sharp.
+Intelligent
-Withdrawn
Lazarus is the poster child for brains over brawns. Since the moment he opened his eyes, he had to figure out ways to get over on his siblings if he wanted to stay sane. From this, he got his craftiness. When he started venturing on his own, he collected a lot of wisdom through solitude and observation. Now when he speaks, provided it isn't to uplift or be catty, it is very profound. He is a master tactician and has a mind for finding ways to increase efficiency.
Despite all this, Lazarus has a tendency to sell himself short. He will come up with plans, doubt himself, and talk himself out of following through him. If he thinks he has a solution to something, he might not bring it up on the account that he doesn't want to sound silly.
+Assertive
-Intense
When its time to put all jokes aside, Lazarus just naturally takes the reins. He is commanding and he does not tolerate any indecisiveness during dire situations. Suddenly the rather doubtful cat becomes absolute in what he says, and he says it with power. But he isn't cruel; objections aren't met with violence, and as always, he would rather solve them with words than actions. Unless the debater has a point, he ultimately will put the force of his rank behind his words in the end.
When the switch is flipped, things can get a bit scary. To see a cat who is normally cheery and all smiles suddenly crack down within a second can cause tension. It actually takes a bit of time for him to calm down from this state. During this time, things may become more dire than they truly are, so he sometimes has to be calmed down by another cat.

HISTORY
Sierra and Champion were older skilled cats of the water tribe, both of them soldiers who had thrown their lives into battle during the hard times, but were madly in love during the calm times. It was a dreadful surprise to find out that Champion had died in battle. It seemed too impossible to be true; he was a giant and powerful cat, and with his soulbound partner, Julius, he was unstoppable. In honor of such a powerful warrior, Sierra was decommissioned in hope that she would be carrying his powerful genes within her. Julius, weakened by the death of his partner, went into rest with her. Together they mourned on that night, but during a moment of poor life choices on their part, they mated as well. Not too long after, Sierra realised that she was pregnant, and the thought that if any of her kits were Champion's she had muddled her litter with a cat she had no feelings for gave her an immense feeling of guilt and shame. She casted herself into exile to hide the deed, though lingered around the water tribe, where her heart belonged. Julius gave himself time to recover before diving back into the war with a broken heart. He would be taking their secret to the grave.
All of nature's spite was put into the makings of Sierra's four kittens. Star (Celestine) was in her spitting image with the fiery spirit of her father. Oak (Borealis), looked like a perfect blend between the two and was wild and brutish. Hawk (Alistar) looked almost exactly like his father, but was the mildest and nicest of the two...then there was Lapis. It wouldn't have mattered what he was like, angel or devil, because Lapis had the unfortunate fate of being born small, short furred, thin, and light colored like his father Julius, but with the blue eyes and tabby face of his mother. Sierra tried to be impartial, but her strong emotions would not allow her to be able to look at Lapis without stirring up feelings. She didn't have to say it for his siblings to know who certainly wasn't the favorite. This would lead to Lapis often getting bullied by Star and Oak. They often blamed him for being the reason they couldn't live happily within a tribe. Not to mention he was much smaller, thus easier to manhandle when they were bored. Alistar would sometimes come to his defense when things got too bad. There were many times Lapis was sure he would have been killed if not for Alistar, but his docile nature meant he was often easily talked into joining the bullying.
The day their tattoos started forming was the day that was the final straw for Sierra. Star and Oak had both formed water tribe tattoos like their parents. Hawk had surprised them with a light tattoo, which was a huge honor. Lapis had fire, the exact opposite of water. Feeling like she was being cursed, Sierra was now becoming bitter towards Lapis. She was his biggest inhibitor and constantly nitpicked at everything he did. He was like his his siblings in that he enjoyed water and fishing, and learning about the water tribe, but his mother told him he couldn't anymore and would exclude him from the story times. She had told him that his father had fled from the war and was exiled. In shame of mating a traitor, she did the same; this fueled even more torment from his two siblings. Despite all this, Lapis was patient and understanding with his mother. He knew she had to love him, or she would have just abandoned him by now. So when Sierra passed and only Aistar showed with him to pay her respect, Lapis denounced his remaining family. He went to search for his alleged cowardly father, but to no avail. Lapis was so tired and frustrated with all the events of his life, he finally decided to put it all behind him and join the fire tribe to make new memories with.

SIDE NOTES
Tattoo: Plumes of golden smoke (or steam) surround his watery blue left eye, but it quickly turns into powerful crackling flames around the left of his face that even out into exotic flares on the back of his left ear.
{Powers}
-Smokescreen: A skill that brought him many quick retreats in his younger days.
-Furnace: The best way to dry off and warm up after a little swim.
-Heat Wave: Have you ever had a tender salmon slow cooked to perfection?
-Just Blaze: Now we are talking serious business. This is a skill he practices on at least twice a day, preferably away from other cats to keep the chances of accidents down. He uses it in therapeutic ways, as conjuring flames requires him to gather up built up rage and let it go~let it gooo~
-Fury: You mad bro? This is how he can truly enact his more "brains over brawn" type battle style.
-Boiling Point: Fishing made way easier.
Scars:His siblings were quite meticulous in their torment directed towards Lazarus. From the front, Lazarus looks perfectly clear of all scars and blemishes, but from behind (and above for all those who are taller than him), red punctures can clearly be seen at and between his shoulderblades while scratches rake down his back. They look intense, but only because his fur is short and pale. He takes a lot of shame in his scars, as they are a part of his past that won't go away.
Teeth and claws: His teeth are thick and long, but his claws are razor thin. Probably the only reason a cat his size had survived alone for so long is their lethalness. He doesn't extend his claws except in dire circumstances before he is finally provoked into attacking. He chews and claws at twigs to sharpen his teeth and fix his claws in the situation that they break.
Tail: Sleek and short fur like the rest of him. His tail comes to a pointed tip where his fur becomes shorter and darker until it is a blackish-gray.
Voice Cannon: Micheal Buble
Theme Song: Feeling Good - Micheal Buble
Quirks: *Talking in a sing-song voice *Corny jokes and puns *Rotating his ears with his tone of voice *Not blinking as often as some cats *Yawning after laughing *Purring when nervous.
Bad habits: Understating problems, *Cat puns *Joking out of nervousness *Snorting when his feelings are hurt *Obsessive grooming to drive cats away.
Sexuality: Demisexual. Despite thinking that love is a beautiful thing, he is rather romantically disconnected and can't picture himself ever falling in love. He can develop a bit of an inferiority complex with cats that he is close to, but patience and open communication will ultimately make him a better cat and a great mate.
Myer Briggs: ISFJ
Dream: He doesn't think much about the future, but he wants to be remembered as a hero in the fire tribe for centuries to come in death.
Fears: Dying and being forgotten.
Zodiac: Capricorn
Scent: Allspice. He roasts the berries and rolls in them to get rid of salty or fishy smells from fishing.
Favorite Food: Salty fishes
Favorite Gift: Catnip *eyebrow wiggle*
Favorite Places: Fisher's outlook, Cat's Eye Lake, Stillwater Basin
Favorite Season: Winter (best time for catfish fishing)
Favorite Color: Auburn
{Roleplay Example}
There was a sort of solemn and quiet atmosphere on the Cat's Eye this early morning; or at least that is what Lapis was trying to create. Earlier that week, his mother had ventured out on this island to be in solitude, and when he couldn't find her around he had journeyed to the island to find her lifeless and wasting away. To see her in such a state brought an immense amount of weight onto his chest. He couldn't describe the feeling any sort of way as it wasn't sadness, dread, relief, or anything else. It felt like a sudden chest cold, and it didn't leave until he properly buried what was left.
Not long after, the cat ventured out to find his brother, Hawk, at the Needle. Despite his siblings going their separate ways as adults, they were so predictable due to similar tastes. He had told his brother of their mother's passing, watched as the light momentarily left his eyes and fought the growing sadness in their silence. Hawk's only words were that he would inform their brother and sister of the news. Lapis trusted he would do just that, but found the two and told them as well, just so they could understand the magnitude of the situation. He gave them a time and reminded them of all she had done, but never told them they had to be there. They should feel it in their hearts.
Yet despite all this, there were only two cats standing before the makeshift grave of the queen that had brought them into the world. In respect to the dead, they were silent and sat there until the sun was high into the sky. But as he began swimming towards the mainland, it felt like his emotions were going so haywire a whirlpool was opening up right beneath his paws. How could they? How could they to a cat with nothing but acceptance and patience for these missing two. It was a love and patience that he could have nothing more than a front-line seat to and dream about. Of all the things he could ever covet of Oak and Star, it was the immense amount of pride his provider had for them. But apparently it was a love wasted; not even worth being paid respect to in death.
He reached may have physically reached the mainland safely, but Lapis felt as if he had been sucked from under him and dragged into the dark void of the lake. For the first time in his life, Lapis had truly felt enraged. He couldn't forgive this.
